A zombie thriller with brains...and entrails...and lots of other gross stuff
Full disclosure: I am not a horror fan. I'm just not. Believe it or not, despite my ability to watch such violent and disturbing shows as "Breaking Bad" and "The Shield" without having my sleep disturbed (much), I am totally squeamish and jittery when it comes to things that go bump in the night. That's why I've stayed away from horror classics like "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist." Hell, I can't even watch the original "Stepford Wives" all the way through (sorry -- robot Paula Prentiss creeps me out like nobody's business).
And don't even get me started on the current genre of torture porn. I've never seen a "Saw" movie; will never see a "Saw" movie -- end of discussion.
So why, you may asked, am I excited about "The Walking Dead," the new horror series that premieres tonight at 10 on AMC?

"Mad Men" season finale recap: "Tomorrowland"
Spoilers for the season four finale of "Mad Men" below. Don't click through if you don't want to know.
Caution flags: "30 for 30" focuses on Tim Richmond's wild ride
Though I have great admiration for ESPN's "30 for 30" documentary series, which highlights a wide range of extraordinary, sports-related stories, I don't write about it much, for a few reasons. For one thing, though I have some rudimentary sports knowledge, I can't speak with great authority on most of the topics covered in the films. Thus, I'm worried I'll look like a moron if I write about them.
Also, I simply don't always have time to write about them before they air. But I have made an exception in the case of this week's offering "Tim Richmond: To the Limit," which airs 8 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN.

"Justified" to return in February
So, I just recently saw the trailer for the second season of FX's awesome drama "Justified," which was one of my favorite new shows of 2010 ("Terriers," "Boardwalk Empire" and AMC's upcoming "The Walking Dead" are in spitting distance, but "Justified" is the sentimental fave thus far).
You can watch the trailer below. Mostly, it looks like recycled clips from last season, but it does offer the tidbit that the new season starts in February. And, truth be told, any footage of Timothy Olyphant as trigger-happy lawman Raylan Givens is welcome, even if it is old.
