"Glee" season finale recap: "Journey"

I'm criminally late in reviewing the season finale of "Glee," so I'm sure everything truly important about this episode (and the freshman season of this highly unique show) has already been said. Thus, I'm going to skip right ahead to a series of bulleted thoughts/questions/reflections on this week's episode.
Spoilers after the break. Don't click through if you don't want to know.

* OK, first of all, let's be honest: there is NO WAY that Sue would be allowed to judge regionals. No. Way. The school she works at is competing! Everyone knows she leaked the set list at sectionals! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen! I don't care who Sue is (presumably) sexually blackmailing on the show choir committee. This. Would. Not. Happen.
* Having said that, the spat in Principal Figgins' office that followed Sue's revelation about being a judge contained this gem from Miss Sylvester: "I have to be honest, Will. I'm having a really difficult time hearing anything you have to say today because your hair looks like a briar patch. I keep expecting racist animated Disney characters to pop up and start singing songs about livin' on the bayou." Yeah. All is forgiven.
* Um, did Will only buy one pizza for all those teens? No wonder they were crying in his living room.
* I might be alone in all this, but I love anything Finn/Rachel. I loved him calling her on falling apart at Mr. Schue's, and her responding by kissing him. I loved him responding to her telling him to "break a leg" at sectionals by uttering a heart-felt "I love you." I loved their intense duet on "Faithfully," a song I've never really liked. I loved her head on his shoulder at the end. I love them. Love, love, love.
* Will and Emma? Eh. I'm kind of over them. Even their kiss this episode was a pale shadow of the one in "Sectionals." Bring on the Stamos!
* Look, I love the idea of a "Journey" medley. And I loved the kids' performance. But I have one question: Why were all the girls dressed like Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon from "Little Shop of Horrors?" Shing-a-ling, what a crazy thing to be wearing!
* Again, I hate to be a party pooper, but I really wish they'd included "When the Lights Go Down in the City."
* Interspersing Vocal Adrenaline's "Bohemian Rhapsody" with scenes of Quinn giving birth was a little on the nose. Still funny, though.
* I fully believe that Dianna Agron's finest acting moment to date came when Quinn started screaming "You suck!" at Puck while in the delivery room.
* OK, I'm gonna go ahead and say it -- for being a month premature, Quinn's baby is HUGE!
* That scene in the judges' room was masterful. It was hilarious, yet was also one of those great moments where we saw Sue's human side. And who knew Olivia Newton John was so funny! "Brunettes have no place in show business!" Awesome. And topped only by "Kiss my ass, Josh Groban!"
* My father has always referred to Olivia Newton John as Olivia Neutron Bomb. I don't really know why. And it has nothing to do with the episode. I just think it's funny.
* Shelby gets little Beth almost immediately? Hmm. I'm not really sure adoption is that easy. Also not sure that a woman who gave up her daughter, manipulated her way back into that daughter's life, then ditched said daughter AGAIN is the best candidate for motherhood. Quinn and Puck, I have a feeling that baby will be yours again in the near future.
* Oh, and I totally don't buy that Puck loves Quinn. Likes her, definitely. Likes her a lot, maybe. Not love. That's not his thing.
* Kurt's sailor hat during "To Sir With Love." That is all.
* You know, I had a feeling that Sue would save glee club partly because she would miss having Will to mock. There's no one else at that school she even finds worthy of her harassment (well, Emma, maybe. But how many Bambi jokes is even Sue capable of?). Whether she'd admit it or not, she'd miss him.
* Confession: I have never liked that Hawaiian rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" -- not since they played it when Mark Green died on "ER." Every time I hear it, I just feel really bad for Dr. Corday.

-Sue’s line about the racist characters and livin’ on the bayou was HILARIOUS (I assume this was a hit at Princess and the Frog, one of my favorite Disney films currently). I seriously couldn’t stop laughing!!
-I’ll be honest; I’ve been over Will and Emma for a while now. It was cute when it first got going, but now I’m just sick of it. NEXT!
-I really enjoyed this episode because I am a huge, huge, HUGE Journey fan—and I’ve always gotten made fun of because of it (and yes, WHY were they dressed like a 60s girl group??).
-Vocal Adrenaline’s rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody was excellent, but I still say I don’t like that Jesse kid.
-I don’t know why I didn’t notice before, but has ON-J gotten work done? She looked sort of…plastic-like.
-I want to thank you for being the only other person I know that despises the Hawaiian version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Thank you. I said that the other night and I got virtual daggers thrown at me.
I love you, Glee, and I eagerly await your return.

I loved the finale so much ... I pretty much turn a blind eye to all of the things that couldn't/wouldn't possibly happen because this show (as a friend of mine put it) is like crack. It's addictive and you're not even really sure WHY you like it so much, but you MUST watch the next episode!

And I seriously cried through like half of it. I cried more over Glee than I did over the Lost finale and that has me in total shock :)
